The newly built guest house in Värmdö complements the client’s main summer residence. Perched on a steep hillside among mature pines, it appears from above as a modest outbuilding quietly integrated into the landscape. The two-level house contains a bedroom, bathroom, & custom storage wall on each floor, with rooms oriented toward forest & Baltic Sea views.
A walkway links it to the main house, offering easy access while preserving separation. Built from timber & glass on a truss frame anchored to the slope, the house features perforated exterior walls for ventilation & a deep black-painted facade that blends with the woods. Inside, dark-stained plywood walls, a chequered timber-batten ceiling, & light grey floors create a warm, textured atmosphere.
